CRER represented Diya Holdings in the purchase of 1651 E Commercial Ave in Lowell, IN for a ground up, Jimmy John’s drive-thru development. This is part of a string of sites negotiated on behalf of the brand in the Midwest by CRER’s Nate Gautsche.

Other sites that are in development and will be open soon are forthcoming in the McKinley Park and Pullman Neighborhoods in Chicago and Battle Creek, Michigan.

Lowell, Indiana, has experienced steady growth in recent years, expanding its economic footprint and residential appeal. The Strack & Van Til supermarket in town recently underwent an $8 million overhaul, reopening in February 2025. Tractor Supply Co. added a garden center in Lowell in June 2024, marking its 500th such location in the chain. Additionally, Lowell Plaza, a 61,500 sq ft retail center along Commercial Avenue, continues to attract tenants—from hardware to fitness and service shops.

Over the past three years, Lowell has seen a significant growth in quick-service (QSR) dining options. Taco Bell opened a new location at 2107 E. Commercial Avenue earlier this year. Burger King returned to Lowell — closing in 2017 and rebooting recently at 1620 East Commercial. Culver’s also recently entered the market with their opening in 2022.
