CRER represented the Arby’s franchisee in the sublease of 522 W. Golf Road in Schaumburg, and the space is now home to House of Tales Bakery & Cafe. The Turkish and Mediterranean concept backfills a recently closed Arby’s on one of Schaumburg’s busiest retail corridors.
The property is a 3,417 square foot standalone drive-thru on 1.20 acres that was fully gut renovated in 2019. It offers direct access to Golf Road, which carries roughly 32,300 vehicles per day, along with 62 parking spaces and a 12 car drive-thru stack. For a food and beverage user, that combination of visibility, parking, and recent construction is difficult and expensive to replicate through new development, which made the sublease an efficient path to opening for the incoming operator.
House of Tales Bakery & Cafe is the second location from the ownership behind A Thousand Tales Restaurant/Bakery & Cafe in Mount Prospect. The Schaumburg location brings a bakery and cafe format to the corridor, opening early and staying open into the evening seven days a week. Guests can expect Turkish and Mediterranean staples including simit, borek, and menemen in the morning, alongside a bakery case of baklava, pistachio pastries, honey cakes, and traditional Turkish puddings, all paired with Turkish coffee and tea.
