As a native of the western suburbs of Chicago, James Hock grew up in a family of mason contractors, learning the fundamentals of construction and architecture at an early age. His experience working alongside his family in the construction business subsequently sparked an interest in pursuing a career in the real estate industry. At just 19, James purchased his first investment property, a single family home, which he rehabbed and sold five years later with a significant profit. He then continued his venture in buying, rehabbing and selling properties for the next seven years as a part-time project while working as an agricultural and equities futures trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. His time spent at the CME taught him how to quickly identify market trends as well as personal and professional discipline, customer relations and ethical business practices. These skills have become pertinent to providing a rewarding experience for his clients at Chicago Real Estate Resources.
After obtaining a real estate salespersons license with the IDFPR, James joined CRER in 2007 to practice commercial real estate sales. The years he spent buying and selling real estate as an individual, along with his experience working directly with clients at the CME, honed his skills and knowledge of various market trends, enabling him to become adept at identifying the opportune buying and selling point for his clients seeking commercial real estate advisory services. Currently, James assists with the management of properties in receivership and conducts broker price opinions (BPO’s) on pre-foreclosure and foreclosed commercial properties, along with working with clients in the buying and selling of commercial real estate throughout the greater Chicagoland area.
James has a great understanding of current real estate trends and property values and uses these skills to guide his clients in making the right decision when purchasing a property that fits their needs and bottom line.
