Don Friedman has been a licensed real estate broker since 1988. He holds a B.S in Finance from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Don began his real estate career in 1987 buying rundown student rental properties in the DeKalb area and rehabbing four buildings for which he owned and managed. He also managed and leased apartments for others. During his time in DeKalb, he was general contractor for the construction of a new single family home for which subsequently sold for profit. He worked on 2 developments with Rubeck &Co. for which he sold condominiums and pre-rented 60 new apartments from blueprints. In addition, he brokered a number of deals through Century 21 Milner and Associates.
Don relocated back to Chicago in 1991. He served as Leasing Consultant and Director of Leasing for two major prestigious residential buildings in Chicago’s Gold Coast and Lincoln Park areas.
In 1993 he acted as his own Broker as an independent contractor. He handled the sale of several apartment buildings ranging in size from 6 units to 40 units. He managed several condominium associations totaling approximately 160 units. Don also managed and brokered several buildings that were in receivership for lenders such as Citibank F.S.B. In addition, Don sold a number of condominiums and single family homes to clients through personal referrals.
Since 1998, Don has been operating as his own Real Estate Brokerage firm “Realty Chicago” and works primarily in the residential market . In 2003, experienced Realtor, Ann Clements, joined Don as Realtor Associate with Realty Chicago.
Over the past several years Don has corralled a number of loyal clients. He is a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Illinois Association of Realtors, and the Multiple Listing Service. Don is a multi-million dollar producer and consistently ranks in the top 10% of the Chicago Association of Realtors, annually.
